The Al-Hares Center believes that society’s attitude towards women is an important measuring tool in assessing the success of Palestinian communities in building a participatory and democratic civil society. The Center believes that the value of any developmental policy rests in its ability to enhance women’s social status as well as women’s rights and responsibilities in the various phases of social, economic and civil life.
The Center seeks to enhance the status of women by conducting the following activities:
Lobbying for women’s rights in legal legislations.
Supporting and empowering the leading women’s organizations in marginalized locations of the rural community.
Enlightening Palestinians about the rights and responsibilities of women.
Organizing educational and training programs aimed at increasing the contribution of women in the decisions which involve and affect them.
Capacity building and field activities for the leading women’s organizations.
Promoting the values and principles of democracy and human rights in rural communities.
